Led by H.E. the Director General of the Center, Dr. Sami bin Mohammad Al-Hamaidi, a delegation visited the Dubai Airshow during its 16th edition, which launched in Dubai from November 17 to 21, 2019.
This mega event is highly anticipated by global aviation companies to showcase their latest innovations in aviation manufacturing technologies and solutions in defense, defense industries, aerospace, missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and numerous other sector innovations. Arab participation included aviation, defense, and security companies, notably from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Among the key objectives of the delegation's visit was exploring modern aviation technologies and holding meetings with several companies to discuss joint cooperation in the Center’s fields of expertise—such as defense systems, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designs, navigation systems, and satellite communications.
Additionally, the visit aimed to review advancements in naval vessel manufacturing technologies and explore mechanisms for cooperation in remote-controlled naval vessel programming.
It is worth noting that the importance of participating in such events and gatherings lies in engaging and gaining insight into the capabilities of global manufacturing companies within the aviation and defense sectors, staying abreast of the latest developments, and exploring avenues of cooperation with these global companies to build strategic partnerships aimed at localizing advanced technologies in the Kingdom. Furthermore, it aims to build communication bridges with decision-makers at these global corporations and inform them of the Center's capabilities and future aspirations as a national research center dedicated to serving the armed forces.
